Do colombians need a transit visa for canada?

i'm trying to get a flight to colombia and have found a cheap deal going via canada. any help?

Colombian nationals need a temporary resident visa if they plan to visit Canada, so yes... they will need a transit visa if they want to take a flight through Canada.

Transit visas are free of charge, but you will still need one. Before looking at the Canada Immigration website, I would have thought that as long as you do not leave the airport and are past the security checkpoint, you would not need a transit visa, but I would have been wrong.

Please review the website below and apply as necessary. If your flight will be returning through Canada, make sure that your transit visa is valid for at least two stopovers.
