  1. Comets are a form of goldfish.

To breed they need to be in a large spacious pond (500 gallons minimum). They are seasonal breeders and only breed in springtime. They will also only breed once they are over 1-2 years old and getting close to full size (over 12").

They are much harder to breed in tanks and you'd need over 100 gallons of overfiltered tank to do it.

Why do you want to breed these fish? There are already thousands in pet stores with no home to go to. Breeding a common/comet mix will be pretty unimpressive and you may end up with hundreds of fry with no room and no homes and have to cull the lot.

  2. My own comets and goldfish have bred together. So yeah, as long as sexually matured and has enough space.

  3. Comets are a type of goldfish. Goldfish is more of their family name, with different species of goldfish. Yes they will breed if you get a male and female. They will have to be of a mature age to breed first of all, then you will want to keep them in a spacious tank, keep their water quality good, and feed them a good healthy diet. Only healthy fish will breed.

  4. comets are goldfish so yeah
