when a company/firm taking a volunteer to give job experience is there any cost involvement for the company apart from the initial time n money for hiring process.

I am thinking companies must be very happy to take volunteers bcuz they don't have to pay any salary or is there hidden thing which i don't see?

Thank You

  1. Health and safety, insurance and tax on any income generated when that person is employed, volunteer or not.

  2. Even though you're a volunteer, the company is still responsible for you in the event something happens while you're at work.  It also means someone has to take the time to train you just to do the volunteer work.  Bottomline, volunteering at a company is not as easy on the company as most people think.

You're just like a regular employee except you don't get paid.
