  1. I currently work for a company that pays me a lot more than my last - and they treat me great and are happy to have me on board!  It depends on the culture of  the office. Some companies  feel as if you are going to be more productive stressed out; and some feel you will be more productive happy.

Yes some boss' hold on to the idea that they need to hound you for you to be productive. But not all companies feel like they "own" you if they pay you more.

    Good luck.

  2. I got three good sized raises in 1 year.

When the raises were final ......Management took out

all the padded seating and replaced them with steel

circular red and blue table benches with no back support.

Then made us ware lime green plastic vests

Then told everybody  you will work all saturdays, forever.

Yes ,  I did go from 34,000 per year to 40,000 per year

But I also quit December 2007 and am looking for another job

I am in the extreme N. Dallas area. and looking

If a person has only Sunday for non-work day , then I

believe they have sold their sole to the Devil. Because there is no time to live your life . Only work work work.

  3. You are looking at it backwards, they don't pay you more and therefore feel entitled to be mean.  They are just mean, and because of that need to pay everyone more not to leave.  I have seen a correlation is some companies, but there are plenty of exceptions too.

  4. Not all are like that but at the same time the more you make the more they expect in return.
