Do cops talk business at Dunkin Dounuts?

They seem to take a break every hour and then I read in the paper how they are too busy and don't want to ' Walk the Beat ' and just ride around in their cars.

Of course they do.  So do the other customers, I'm sure ... ie. truck drivers, nurses, teachers, garbage men, plumbers, etc.  Strange, but you didn't object to any of these occupations taking a break?  Just out of curiosity where do you get the idea that any occupation takes a break every hour?  You must spend a lot of time at Dunkin Donuts timing everyone else, but I won't complain about you doing that.  You're welcome.  You appear to believe everything you read in the newspaper ... we all know that the media never bends the truth.  Right??

Yes. They sit there and laugh at all the 350 pound civilians who buy two dozen donuts & a quart of diet soda. Where else could you get that kind of entertainment free with coffee?

Most of the time we just sit around thinking of as many charges as we can come up with to charge this dude "Pablo" from Y!A who likes to make fun of our donuts once we catch him.  :-)

just like every other working american citizen, they deserve a break and yes they talk shop about their day and the shift's experiences. some of this is helpful information passed along about particular incidents, or it could be merely laughing at the losers getting busted for drugs. but everyone likes to see them arrive when they are in need of them.

Yes, some of them "talk shop" at the donut shop.  Most of them "talk shop" at bars after work, and at backyard barbecues, and in the parking lot after church, and at the barbershop, and anywhere else more than one of them happens to be.

Just like any other profession, when they get together they talk about their business.  The same way lawyers talk about business, and teachers talk about business, and so on.

People tend to forget that officers did not come into being with a uniform on their back and a badge on their chest.  They are people first, officers second ... and they tend to do most everything other people do.
