  1. yup it's true

  2. Here are some interesting facts regarding cows and milk. =)

  3. they have to have given birth

  4. no, who told you that? we would have too many cows if that was true

  5. most of that article is true.

I've seen the website myself (proud vegetarian of a year now)

And veal is a byproduct, definitely.

PLUS, female cows are artificially inseminated so that they produce milk, that is FACT.

But the thing is the cows don't have to produce a CALF, they kinda just get their reproductive organs going when they're inseminated.

It's like....girls have to get their period before they can reproduce, yaknow?

  6. No their t***s have to be stimulated to create milk or they are given hormones.

Dairy cows are generally treated very, very well because the better they are treated, the more milk they produce. Dairy farmers will spend hours talking to their cows. They will put classical music on in the barn for the cows at the right decibel level. They frequently get masages. They know a mad cow will not make milk. They want ol' Bessie to produce because after all the bottom line is the flow of cash.

Their little "cash cows" won't produce much if they are abused.

  7. no thats why some are called dairy cows, cows are always producing milk, when they are preganant they just start producing more, but towards the end of the preganancy the milk starts getting kinda thick and salty cause its the milk that the baby cow takes when its born.....

sorry i dont know all the scientific words, but im right....

  8. Cows produce milk after calving.   Veal is calf meat.  (ie - it comes from any calf)  Cows (and many many other animal species) are treated with great cruelty by humans and this is usually carefully hidden from public sight.  Not all farmers are cruel though as it is possible to raise animals with respect and in a more healthy way.

  9. I'm pretty sure they have to have a calf to produce milk, at least naturally.

I'm sure the article is true, but I'm sure they took the worst of every dairy farm they could find to make their argument more dramatic. I don't believe that all of that happens in every dairy farm. There are good and bad dairy farms. Just like there are good and bad zoos, puppy breeder, pet stores, etc.

Here's a good one. The cows have waterbeds and watch TV on a flatscreen!

    ADD:

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Veal

Veal is the meat of calves (young cattle). Though veal can be produced from any calf, most veal comes from male calves of dairy cattle breeds. Compared to other meats, veal has a delicate taste and tender texture.

  10. yes

  11. No

  12. No.

  13. They must calve. Dairy farmers treat their cattle as best they can. It is their living. They get the best of food. They may get shelter.

    Veal is from calves, yes.

Beef cattle live outdoors 24/365/ . Many eat what they can.

Don't fret because whether you drink milk and eat cheese or not will never change the way the world gets its food. Less people buy then prices drop and others consume more.

Read this and you will know more without the spin from either side.

  14. no b/c they always produce milk

  15. No, I dont think so.

  16. nope!

  17. have to have a baby to be able to produce milk

  18. yes veal is a by product of the dairy industry as is the fast food industry. a dairy cow is like any animal it produces milk when its body due to hormones tell it to it will continue for some time but it slowly decreases in volume. then the dairy farmer take the cow out of milking rotation and get her pregnant after the calf is born they either leave the calf with the cow for a short while or send it straight to the Tallow (meat by products like glue and bone mill dog cat and pig food. if it is left with the cow for a while it is either raised as replacement stock for old cows, it is raised as veal, it is raised a low quality beef (for fast food company's and processed hamburger. or it is sold at auction. for someone else to raise for there purpose. the hormones can be given to the cow to fake there bodies out but milk for cows give synthetic hormones has fallen out of favor in most markets

  19. Hello - milk is produced to feed young, only.  Mammals do not usually produce milk until after parturition (after the baby is born) then produce milk as long as milk is taken from the udder.

The site you sent is not even the half of the horrors of raising meat in this country.
