  1. Yes, just like humans have to have birth to give milk.

  2. All Moms need to go through pregnancy and birth giving process in order to produce milk, so cow is no exception.

Cow those produce milk without giving birth may have been injected with hormones. Such milk should not be produced, sold or used. It is crime against nature.

  3. Yes Cows need to go through the mating part and birth to produce milk.

It is only because the period of growth of a Baby cow is more we are able to get the milk for a longer period of time as compared to humans.

  4. Yes, the cows have to be bred and give birth every year to stay in a healthy milk producing stage. They must also go through a dry stage each year. And, yes , there a lot of little calves out there from dairy cows.

  5. No they do not, they can produce milk without acutallly giving birth, however during the times when they are about to give birth or for several weeks after the birth we cannot consume their milk because it contains materials in it that are unhealthy for consumption.

  6. eventually the flow of milk that a cow gives will decrease to the point where it's not worth milking her anymore. cows also get aggitated with a long milk producing season. to replenish the amount of milk the cow makes she must have a calf, but to have that happen the cow must have a rest period in between, this is called drying off a cow. this rest period ensure that the cow can prepare herself for birth and rest for a while, call it a vacation if you will. this rest can ensure more milk, and the cow often produces more milk than she did in her last season.

  7. Regardless of where they live, however, all dairy cows must give birth in order to begin producing milk. Today, dairy cows are forced to have a calf every year. Like human beings, cows have a nine-month gestation period, and so giving birth every twelve months is physically demanding. The cows are also artificially re-impregnated while they are still lactating from their previous birthing, so their bodies are continually producing milk during their nine-month pregnancy.

  8. the real answer is NO!!! the birth just causes the pituitary glands in the brain to release the milk producing hormone. if after the birth you continue to stimulate the teat it will continue to stimulate the hormone producing gland and... continue producong milk...eg. milk producing cows (holsteins). you would have a whole h**l of a lot of little calfs running around if they had to produce progeny. there are beef producers and there are milk producers
