  1. that is a very interesting. i be live you are correct. i would like to hear conservatives explain that away.

  2. Capitalism has always been a failure for the lower classes. It is now beginning to fail for the middle classes.

  3. Darwin demonstrated that evolution occurs within species. He did not demonstrate that one specie turns into another over time. Divine creation and that aspect of Darwinism are both unproven theories. What exactly that has to do with free markets, I'm not sure.

  4. You conflate "conservatives" (presumably meaning economic conservatives) with "republicans".  I don't see many conservatives that have problems with the workings of the free market, and while many are christian, most have made peace with the notion that Genesis 1:1 isn't a text book, and their ideology comes out fairly consistent.  Whether it is correct is debatable, but consistent.

Unfortunately conservatives are too small a voting block to be the sole support for a political party so the republicans need to add on the support of the evangelicals and the war hawks and the gun nuts to get a decent size voter base.  That's where they get the inconsistent stuff, like "laissez-faire economics will work better than any other possible system, but laissez-faire biology is a fantasy".

The sooner we end the belief that republicanism is the be-all and end-all of conservatism the better.

  5. most conservatives are atheists, actually.

they may attend church but they are not believers.

read most influential free-market proponents and you will see a very anti-religious mode of thinking.
