Sharks, yes! Crocodiles, no! You won't find any crocs until you get well north of Mackay.

No they do not! they are found in the northern parts of Australia such as Cape York Peninsular to the Kimberley's. They are found in both salt and fresh water billabongs, large river systems, lakes and swamps.

They generally aren't found around the Gold Coast area however there have been reports and sightings of crocodiles in areas well below Mackay - for instance Gladstone and Boyne Island.
