I'm 14. I wanna get away for a week(spring break). Are there usually lots of teens on board? And where can I find cheap cruise fares? Do you need to take motion sickness medicine?

  1. Carnival has a tendancy to have a younger crowd, I think.  I have only been on two - Carnival and NCL.  Food is awesome.  Carnival was better for food too.  Cost about 1000.00 PP for everything (inluding air).  I took motion sickness medication just in case but I think you can wait until you get on the ship and just have it with you.  If you need it, it works faily quickly.  Go to expedia, travelocity, cheaptickets and compare.  Then, try carnival directly.

  2. I went on one this summer. the ship i was on had very few teens on it, but the food, games, shows, and excursions were great. it was the best trip ever. and it was for like 7 day and cost $500.00 so i did not think the price was bad. all your food is included.

  3. Cruises are definetely a fun vacation and a great way to relax. There should be a good amount of teens on board, but it can depend on the cruiseline. Royal Caribbean and Carnival will have a younger crowd and more teens than some other cruise lines. The food is amazing on cruises, and the service is top notch. There are plenty of things to do on board, such as watching nightly shows, sporting activities, and hanging out by the pool. When on a cruise, there is a "newspaper" sent to your room. The paper will have a list of all the events going on that day and the time and place. It depends on the person on whether they get motion sickness. I would take a precautionary step and maybe buy some motion sickness bands at your local drug store, but if you really need, you can head to the enfermery on the cruise and they will treat you.

  4. as far as ive been told, anyone under 25 has to have a guardian on board to go on a cruise. (dont know if youre going with family anyway) but cruises are a lot of fun.  of course it depends on what cruise line/time of year etc... around school breaks there will obvs be more kids than if you went during a school week... they have amazing food and the more expensive ships have fun stuff like mini golf/rock climbing/bball/volleyball/games/ice skating rinks.. as well as the fun when you stop at an island!  ive been on Royal Carribean and Carnival... and I'd def recommend RC... Carnival was a little out of date and there wasnt much to do except for young children.  I never got motion sickness til just recently on a smaller cruise boat - it all depends on the person but I would bring some Dramamine or precautionary meds just incase.. wouldn't want to ruin your trip!  So as a rule of thumb (from my experience anyway) the more expensive ships have the most to do and are the most fun.  Good luck!

  5. There are teens on them but they are usually escorted by parents and I don't think that anyone in your age should be traveling far alone.  Cruises are fun, and they have cheap fares and the food is great and motion sickness depends on the person and there ability to be on the water for a long time.  I would say that you need to find a group to travel with because all sorts of dangers could exist out there for someone your age traveling alone.

  6. the royal caribbean cruiseline has a lot of teens and there is a special room just for teens. they also have pool parties and scavenger hunts. you can buy motion sickness bands that you put on your wrist if you get seasick. i love going on cruises. they are so fun!!!

  7. Youre 14 and you're going on a cruise by yourself??

  8. i would say you would have a great time with a disney cruise out of florida. supposedly the best out there. also princess, or rcci, or carnival.  I would ask around about motion sickness medicine esp at cruisecritic.com

  9. Under age 18 cannot travel alone on a cruise.  Cruise's are fun and a different way to travel.  I have been on several and have another planned for the fall.  There are usually a good number of teens on board and you will not starve to death that's for sure!  I don't have any problems with sea sickness, but I have seen people that have been a little green.  Check with a travel agent for the best deals.  Deals are sometimes offered per state, so you may get a better deal than I would.

  10. they sure do
