Do current jobs (2008) show up on tax history, social security history, and credit checks?

Having a police background check done soon and was just curious. Thank you to all very much for responding!

  1. If a credit report is run on you, it is possible that your current employer is listed, if that credit bureau has updated their database. (which I highly doubt).  Credit bureaus are notorious for lacking correct persoal information on consumers.  A police background check cannot even determine where you work, unless it is an investigation and they are actually talking to people who know you.


  2. No,probably not - your name and ss# are reported to the feds at the end of the year when you get your W-2.  But at least in PA your name and earnings are reported quarterly for unemployment purposes, so I suppose it's possible for the info to show up.  Depends on where they are looking.

    But if you are referring to a criminal background check, that isn't for employment history anyway, it's for criminal history.
