Do customers have to pay service tax?

is service tax an indirect tax which companies have to pay to the government but ask their companies to pay for it?

and if so...then is a customer within his right to not pay for such indirect taxes?

  1. Any service provider (covered by service tax) with turnover of more than 10 lac must collect service tax from its customers. If customer does not pay, the service provider must pay.

  2. All service providers has to pay service tax.  Exemption is given  to services below 10 lakhs.

    Customer no right to refuse.  At the same time He may adjust this amount If he also a service provider
