keep the parameters at optimum levels and allow them to have schools of at least 6 or more. also, give them at least 10 gallons of water to swim around.

Most danios will be fine in a community tank.  Here are some ways to keep them happy.

1) Give them a nice size tank (20+) to swim around.  While they could be kept in a smaller tank, their swiming speed makes them best for a 20+

2) Keep them in a small school of 4-6 fish.  They will be less likely to nip other fish

3)  Avoid fish with large tails that might provide a temptation to nip.
