Do dead ants [the ones you squish] smell slightly of butter to you?

when my dad killed a whole bunch of them, by finger, they smell like butter. the fake one called "i can't believe it's not butter"

Yeah they do... at first I didn't know what it was but I found out it was the aunts my sister squished

The smell is butyric acid if I remember either my high school biology right. This is the same acid in both items.
