Do dead leaves raked onto gravel roads do damage to the roads?

i have always been told that leaves left on gravel roads will cause them to erode as well as cause a mucky mess as rain and car travel mush them up? does anyone have a clear answer if leaves left on gravel roads actually do any damage to the roads? thanks in advance.

  1. it will do zero damage 2 the rock however grass is organic thats why tou placed the rock was 2 cover organe [dirt ]etc

No they don't.  The leaves will decay on the ground or on a gravel or asphalt road.  You have to remember that leaves are organic just like grass.  This is where we get our top soil.  It's from the decay of any organic material.  Like a compost heap that gardeners keep.  Them being placed on the gravel will only cause them to basically get ground up quicker and be blown or washed away.  Don't Worry.
