  1. Talk therapy should be a part of the treatment for any clinical depressed person, along with medication.

They work differently for different people - they usually keep trying them until they find one that works best.

    Best luck.

  2. There are individual idiosyncracies, but in general there isn't spit for difference. For practical purposes, it makes sense to choose an antidepressant according to the patient's symptoms and the general side-effect profile of the medication.

  3. The pharmacokinetics/ pharmacodynamics of antidepressants are independent of CBT/Therapy.

  4. Yes talk therapy should be part of treatment.  As for the medications, they very and some people need more than one type of antidepression medication.  Now if you are bipolar, the medication will act differently and you will need a different treatment.  It is very important for your doctor to identify if you are bipolar.  So yes varous treatments have different effects on different people.  Unforually alot of times it comes to trial and error to see what medications work best for an individual.
