.....or would he look at me like I had 3 heads if I asked? I have a thyroid condition which causes me to have no energy. I am also overweight and heard ritalin can cause weight loss and increased energy/attentiveness in adults, but since ritalin is mainly for kids with ADHD, will I be able to try out this medication or is it hard to get?

  1. are you serious???  if you really have a thyroid condition you should be on meds, which will speed up your metabolic rate some and then you should have more energy and lose weight.  you need to exercise and watch your caloric intake, forget the drugs - that's for losers.

  2. Um no. If a doctor prescribed a drug for a purpose other than its intended purpose, well....they kind of frown on that. It's illegal. And like the other person said, you need to be on thyroid meds. Not ritalin.
