  1. no, but its always wise to

  2. Seat belts for dogs. Why not? Drivers distracted by dog in car can be prosecuted for dangerous driving. Otherwise they are fine.

  3. Only those covered by the Dangerous Dogs Act.  Look at http://www.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dangerous_... for lots of information on this.

  4. When in a vehicle make sure dogs or other animals are suitably restrained so they cannot distract you while you are driving or injure you if you stop quickly.

Other countries have far more stringent rules & regs.

  5. No, but I wouldn't be surprised if they have to in the future.

  6. I was pulled over and told to not let my littl dog lay up in the rear window seat area while I drive, this is tinys favort spot. but I did not get a ticket or anything, he was not in restrians.

  7. Dogs do not have to be restrained by means of a Seat Belt, although special harnesses are available. But the driver has to be driving reasonably and must not put the pet(s) at threat.

An ideal position is in the boot of an Estate car, and you can get Bars that fit up. The rear seats are also ideal, and you can put blankets down.
