Do dogs smell or do cats?

Question

i have a cat but my mom HATES it eventhough i take good care of it and play with it, i clean its litter box and feed it but she still hates it

she thinks it smells but6 now my dad is saying that we should get a dog

so i wanted to know which one smells better?

i really dont want to get a dog eventhough i like dogs more than cats its just that i got really attatched to this cat and its gonna be really hard to give it away!

Dogs smell more than cats do.

Not only do they themselves smell bad if you dont wash them occasionally, but they f**t alot, and their breath smells bad sometimes.

That has been my expierience with dogs.

Cats don't smell. As for the litter box, keep it away from the main parts of the house. We keep ours in our garage, and our cat meows at the door when she wants to use it. We clean it regularly and keep one of those plug-in air fresheners in there so it smells just fine. I had a friend who kept hers in her upstairs hallway...oh my gosh their entire upstairs smelled absolutely horrible.

some long haired dogs get skin infections, and then they really really stink.  As a dog ages, it will smell worse and worse.  Most cats are clean and don't smell.  Pigs are the cleanest animal to own.

dogs dont smell unless u dont take care of them, theyre also easier to give a bath too, and cat litter is usually wat stinks (reallllly bad too) but cats dont smell from wat ive experienced

you should consider getting one of those cat litter trays with a roof with a door on it. it keeps the smell in!

and dogs can smell but if you bath them and take good care of them it will be okay ! =]

Well we have three German Shepards. They are outside dogs and the only thing that smells is their breath. I know people who have inside dogs and people who have cats. The dog, in my opinion, smells just a little less than the cat if you don't bathe the cat. But if the cat was bathed frequently I think they might smell the same.

The answer to this question is dogs will smell especially when they get wet on a rainy day!  Bathing them helps with this!  Cats on the other hand will clean themselves, but if they have a littler box, (so it doesn't smell) clean it every other day! If it needs it every day then do that, most of the time every other day is sufficient!  I have always had cats and dogs and know what I am talking about!

Dogs are more work, they have to be taken outside or walked for exercises, where a cat will take care of that themselves! You just need to keep the litter box clean and fill the water bowl with fresh water and food everyday!
