Do dreams tell us about the feelings of others towards us ?

I dream of my frnd's brother being my boyfriend, or has a crush on me or even a friend, even though we never even spoke. Can dreams tell us about what others feel about us ?

I asked my psych professor the same question (he has a PhD by the way), and his final answer to us was that there is simply not enough solid research to support the idea that dreams mean something.  

Don't get me wrong, some research does show some possible correlations, but there is nothing that can be stated as proof, and there just isn't enough research to back it up.  Currently, there is no solid proof that dreams relate to anything and so far, they are just random thoughts that we have.  

Companies make a lot of money trying to get you to believe it's real though (e.g. dream interpretation books)

Well, I suppose it's possible. But usually dreaming about a brother that you don't have means you feel like you need to express yourself more.

This is in response to JGIRL and to the original poster.  That a bunch of scientists can't seem to figure out what dreams are doesn't mean that you can't use your own experience of dreams in your life to figure them out for yourself.  No other person, no matter how qualified they think they are, should ever tell you how to fit dreams into your life.  If they have meaning to you, then use that to improve yourself, and let the scientists continue with their lives, throwing their dreams away with hasty assumptions.
