Do ear plugs help when flying in an airplane?

My ears always get messed up when the plane lifts off and when it lands.

Do ear plug help? Please answer soon because I will be flying in 2 days.

  1. I would recommend chewing gum during both take off, descent, and landing.  This is what I do and I never had any problems.  Earplugs might also help, but I've never used those so I can't say for sure.


  2. Regular earplugs generally will not help, they may make it worse.  There are special earplugs (one brand, which I use, is EarPlanes) which equalize the pressure more slowly and help a lot with discomfort,


  3. Go to drugstore.com and do a search on Ear Planes , then click on one of the packages and scroll down, they have customer reviews. They are earplugs that are made for flying. You can get them at almost all stores . They sound wonderful!!!  have a good flight!!!

  5. You could try them, but if you are like me then NO, nothing helps, sorry but it is just agony - so much so I refuse to fly anymore. I have tried it all to no avail. So hopefully it will work for you.
