  1. It depends on your company's policy, and what you do.  My company helps to take care of people with disabilities, and you have to be sharp and on your game at all times.  If people at the company I work for fail a drug test, they are immediately terminated.

On the other hand, I have a friend whose son works in trades, and he flunked a drug test and was given another chance, but he has to do another apprentice year over.

I would guess it all depends on what you do and who you work for.

  2. Not likely.  Employers figure drugs are not a one-time problem.  Very difficult to overcome this one.

  3. Nope......your a druggie........your gone.........

  4. Its very doubtful. But that person should probably expect to be kicked to the curb unless they are in high rank.

  5. drugs no. Its usually right in the paper work you sign that you'll be fired.

  6. That sounds like discrimination, allowing some drug addicts to stay while otehrs are fired.   They need to fire anyone who fails.   Otherwise they are both discriminating but knowing risking the public safety and the safety of co-workers by allowing drug addicts to remain at work.

  7. If you tell your employer before hand that you don't think you'll pass the drug test they will most likely give you a chance to get treatment or at least time to get off the drugs.

  8. It really depends on the employeer and the drug policy. If you signed a drug policy when you were hired you would really need to refer to it. Generally it states that upon a postive result the employee MAY be terminated from emloyement, the finally decision is the supervisors decision. So if have been an outstanding employee in most cases the supervisor will make and agreement to keep your employment upon completion of a drug rehab program or classes, even if this was the first and only time you have done drugs. But occasionaly the drug policy states that employeement with be terminated when a positive result is obtained. The best thing to do is to inquire a meeting with your supervisor to discuss the Drug policy

  9. certain types of companies will. depending on the boss. you really have to go by a case by case basis. im sorry. but good luck to you and best wishes!
