I've been noticing that all the hostesses I have come in contact with at restaurants are always attractive. Do restaurants do this on purpose?

  1. yes they do

especially places like red lobster, olive garden and obviously

    HOOTERS

  2. yes them do, and usually theyre young high school or college girls/guys

    1.they're young and presentable

    2. they are flexable with their hours, usually can work evens and weekends, most older women or mothers can't or won't work split shifts, or weekends.

  3. i dont think so  as long as they look presentable

  4. I think your right. Can you blame them though? Some of the peolpe that work out back probley would'nt make very good wait staff. They sometimes...ok alot times, don't speak english, swear alot, and in my experience a few don't shower.

  5. yes they tipically do... i am a bit overweight and i can't get a job as a hostess to save my life

  6. Yeah probably, in fact any employer is biased towards attractive people, even if they don't realize it.

  7. of course they do they are the first person a customer sees upon walking in the door

  8. Of course they do. Looks aren't for Hollywood only. Whether they admit it or not, they don't want scanky people representing their restaurant!

  9. I know they do, my husband is a kitchen manager, and he tells me how they hire the host/hostess's...even the males they hire have to be good looking.....AND he knows for a fact he will never make it to Assistant Manager or GM because he is overweight, and isnt the image the company wants to have....that sucks huh?
