Question:

Do environmentalists WANT the human race to go extinct?

There was a show on the National Geographic Channel that hypothesized about what would happen if all the humans disappeared.

It talked about nuclear power plants going radioactive, dammed rivers, and global warming.

The show depicted an ice age as the final cure for all of the crumbling buildings.

"Nature will clean up our mess. We just have to get out of the way".

  1. It...kinda sounds like a fairytale, do these people THINK humans can survive till the next ICE AGE??? Global warming isn't even over yet!!

  2. I dont think it means that envirmentalist wants the human race to extinct but we should try to move out of natures way and let it recover it self and if we can help it to rite now were are at a tiping point and the world sooner or later will collapse due to us .

  3. I don't think the environmentalists want us to become extinct, unless they are in cahoots with the abortion rights people...... then maybe.

  4. And if they did?

    Would that be so bad?

  5. I think you missed the point of the show. I would take the program to mean that when people warn about what's happening to the planet, it's really our own survival that's threatened, not Earth's.

  6. It was just a program.

  7. I have not seen the show but based on the information you have provided and on my own knowledge I would like to stress that the environmentalists never want human race to extinct. Rather, environmentalist always explores alternatives and legitimate solutions to environmental problems so that human or any life form can live for long.

  8. The simple answer to this is:

As for "Nature will clean up our mess.  We just have to get out of the way."  Yes, the earth is not controlled by us.  We inhabit it, but we don't control the weather, the Earth's rotation, or how the Earth does what it does.  Nature will be nature, whether we're here or not.  We can't stop the wind or a volcano from erupting.  I can't make it 80 degrees here tomorrow.  The quicker that environmentalists accept that we do not control the Earth, but simply control our own existence, the Earth will be a better place.  I want the cleanest world possible, but not at the cost of human lives.  We are the best thing that have ever happened on this world, and we have resources we have learned to use, and must use in order to survive.  The worst part about these issues is that they are used for political agendas.  It's amazing that Al Gore and others can warn about "manmade global warming", release a movie with over 30 technical errors in it, and start up a Carbon Credit market -  which they invest millions of dollars in, that rewards their investment everytime they scam someone else.  Check it out.  Al Gore blames Americans for global warming, then offers them "salvation" through giving him money for carbon credits, and he gets richer and lives the same lifestyle he always has.  Now, that's how I view most "environmentalists", b/c it seems that's how they all manage these things....and then they blame it on business and individuals greed.

It may not be their primary goal, but the effects of the restrictions and application of their primary goal (to "save the planet") often faults man for each and every "problem" they intend to "fix".  There is a natural order to things, and just like government, by continuing to blame man & seeking to co-opt every natural process - they are in effect, destroying our way of life, and also causing other types of destruction with their "good intentioned" plans.  Often, these environmentalists will put the good of what they study before the good of their fellow man.

One prevalent example was the use of DDT.  It is a pesticide often used to prevent malaria from mosquitos.  It turns out that birds were starving from not having enough bugs and such to eat, and large birds (like the ospreys) were laying thin/fragile eggs....so bird populations were declining in areas of heavy use.  In Africa, it is a cheap and effective way of keeping malaria away from the human population.  Many countries banned it in the 60's in order to protect birds and bird eggs, and used more costly and less effective pesticides that caused near epidemics of malaria and other diseases in several African countries.  Death and disease to humans was chosen over bird population decline.  However, DDT has finally been used once again in many of these countries, due to people coming to their senses.

  9. No, then the would not get money for research. They get this money by using scare tactics because no one would give them money otherwise because what they study is really not that important or interesting to the rest of the world.

  10. if we left the Forrest and seas alone the earth  would heal its self,it has been doing it for millions of years.to burn and clear just to survive is one thing, but now its all about money and greed.most people don't care what happens to earth after they are dead they have no thought for their children and their children's children

  11. It was real......uh.....propaganda.   Had a few good laughs tho
