Do evaporative coolers for your house really work good? And are they cheaper to run than a A/C?

  1. We used one in our old home, which was about 1700sf.  Even when the temps were at 100 or higher, the cooler would keep the house about 20 degrees cooler than the outside.  It saved a huge amount on the electric bill, over the ac.


  2. They work well in a dry climate.  If the air is humid, you may want a dehumidifier or air conditioner.
