  1. During my vacations in Paris, I did many one-day trips and these included the entrance into all the places mentioned in the program.

  2. It depends if you went to a good travel agent.  For example, a cruise will have tons of things for you to do onboard, but those "excursions" at those ports usually cost extra unless you bought a package that includes some of them (not all are included since some, especially the local companies like horseback riding, are independent small companies that do it on a space open basis.)

Those excursions are nice, we chose not to include them when we went and the snorkeling/sailing one was great, also the horseback ride, but in one port we just "winged it" and took a great cab ride.  They cabbie was funny, he knew everyone, it seemed.  We have autographed posters of some singer we have never even heard of before, lol. :-)  It was great, though, he knew the area and had a great personallity.

Usually "excursions" are just that, though, something extra you might like to do while vacationing.  Find a good travel agent that can throw in a lot of extras to you don't have to pay for them, or ask if there are specials for visiting new resorts or timeshares.  Many offer free stay as long as you go to a seminar about how you should live there part time (yeah right, but if you are interested, more to you.)

    Good luck and happy vacations......
