Do extremist Muslims put you off Islam?

I work in a Pharmacy and we had this really strict Muslim man in working, he was preaching to all the non-muslim staff about Islam and basically shoving it down their throats. I don't think this is the right way to do it at all. Now they hate him and think all Muslim's are like that. He wasn't perfect himself, but thought he was. I hate that, it gives such a bad reputation of Islam to non-muslim's. I tried to show my colleagues that Islam isn't like that, so they're slowly learning..

It's like the news, how many segments do you see of good things happening? Most stories have to do with death or violence. The same in religion, you never hear about good things that religions do. Personally im not religious, but i can also say that im not so biased that i cant believe or allow people to believe in whatever they want. The problem comes when people start pointing the my god is better than your god stick around. As long as your causing no harm your alright with me!! Extremist in most cases are just that, people willing to go to an extreme to try and "prove" that there way is the only way. Though this is normally short lived because in our world, the masses normally win. As long as they dont have alot of bombs lol
