Do eye doctors usually let you try on a few colored contacts?

Do they let you try on a few brands and colors before you settle on one? Because I am looking to get them, but I was told that I would have to switch brands to get the color I want, and if I did that, then I would need to ask my eye doctor. So if I go there, would he let me try on samples [for free]?

Thanks...

  7. well, i dont know if the doctors let you, but you can go to some of the brands websites, such as freshlook, and actually get certificates for any color u want! i did this a few times, untill i found the perfect shade for me. the site below actually lets u download a picture and try out different colors on yourself, then gives u a certificate 4 a free trial pair to take into your eye doctor. i think i tried out 3 shades b4 finally finding the right one to get...

  8. They typically aren't some sort of distributor or salesperson.  They are there to check your eyes.
