Do fans, like small desk fans or ceiling fans, help your body cool down? or are they just there to make a breeze to feel cooler?

  1. I use one lots in the summer it seems to work.

  2. Electric fans actually add heat to a room. One way to think about it is like this: If you have a perfectly insulated room and you put an electric fan in it, then the room will get warmer. All the electricity that is driving the fan turns directly into heat. So a fan does not cool the room at all.

What a fan does is create a wind chill effect. Wind chill will cool anything that is warmer than the air around it.

EDIT: Then sources yee shall have :)
