  1. Firstly, a message for the person above. Don't answer questions if you don't know as well. Thats no help at all and a waste of time. (EDIT: talking to hruth, miss sherlit and Brian E) (Oh and now bass below as well) For god sake people. Why give false information.

Yes, an over weight person will live longer in a situation where they are starved. The body has more fat stored to live on. Therefore giving the body more food supply then the underweight person

  2. It depends on the situation. if there is absolutely no food, the fat man will live longer. But if it survival in the wilderness, the skinny man is faster and stronger. AND fat people are lazy, skinny people will work for survival. So, GO SKINNIES!

  3. Yes, what happens when one starves themselves, or is starved due to lack of food available is, by going to an extreme deficit of calories, meaning, under 1,200 calories, or your daily maintenance, your body goes into what is called a starvation mode. It is a natural technique to adapt to the environment because your body thinks that there is no food around you.

As a result, your body slows down its metabolism to preserve fat storages to keep you alive. Since obese people have much more fat in their body it will take a while longer until they are deprived of the nutrients to keep then alive.

Starving oneself leads to muscle-loss mainly, not fat loss, which is a common misconception.  Under normal conditions the fit person is definitely going to outlive the fat person.

    Best of luck!

  4. Yes they do.

Fat people have well...fat on them. If you have no food in your system for hours/days/weeks your body will resort to backup, which is fat, to use so your body can keep functioning.

As for skinny people......well if you are hungry and you don't have any type of meat on your bones......your screwed and you will die faster

(your body has nothing to use, therefore you will die faster)

And even if you are physically fit (like straight muscles) a fat person would last longer. Your body can't use your muscles as a source of energy. And yes, a fat person can survive like a skinny person in a survival situation, just to let some people know

Oh and for some of you above, not all fat people are unhealthy. There are fat people inshape and healthier than some skinny people

  5. If your fat you'll most likely dehydrate faster. I think that there is some truth to your statement though but fat only to a certain degree it's not like if your obese you'll survive longer because you most likely won't.

  6. hummm no i dont think they live longer....or maybe in wrong too lol

  7. haha, they'll live longer in like sub zero conditions..they're stomach can feed off the fat lining their stomachs..something skinny people cant do..but other then cold conditions...No...well unless the skinny person is like deathly skinny, then their chances are the same..lol

  8. They may have more stored energy, but they are working harder just to live by carrying around all that fat.

A healthy fit person would probably live longer than a fat person, not least because once the food runs out and they have to resort to cannibalism, the fit healthy person can out-run the fat person. They just have to wait for the fattie to get tired, than they can sneak up and do what needs to be done.

  9. Unless you are planning to be in a situation where you plan to count on survival of the fittest, I wouldn't worry about it. Health conditions make a difference. Thin people can perish from high cholesterol faster than fat people die of it and its accociated factors also.

  10. actually, in really big people, it is a strain for them to breath and even a strain for their blood to pump though all the fat in their body, so really, I don't think they last longer.
