Do faux suede headboards stay clean?

I'm considering buying a faux suede headboard for my bed. It's made of polyester and says it has "special care instructions". Does faux suede stay reasonably clean, or will I have to be incredibly careful to make sure there's always a pillow between my head and the headboard to prevent marking?

No ... they all end up with greasy head marks.

Unless you can remove the suede and wash it, those things are a PITA!
