  1. Depends on the airlines./

  2. Depends on the airline. Most airlines do give their staff some uniform options. I flew with two different companies. With both, we could wear a suit with either pants or a skirt or a dress. We had uniform "points" with both, which could be used towards the uniform pieces we needed/wanted. There were also other choices, like a hat, different scarves and a choice of coats.

They also had some extra rules, like the apron could only be worn on domestic flights and men had to wear long sleeves on international.

I liked wearing the dress because if something spilled, like hot coffee, I could hold it away from my skin. It was also easier to clean than the suit and less to pack in my bag for the return flight.

Some companies are more strict and only want one uniform worn one way but most companies in the U.S. are more flexible.

  3. Most airlines have the option of pants or skirts/dresses, and some don't have any dresses at all.

  4. Depends with the airline, or women flight attendant can wear pants or shorts.
