Question:

Do female crickets choose their mate?

I am doing a science project and have to create a "mini-rainforest". I put 2 crickets inside-a male and a female. The male tries to mate with the female but it always runs away. After much observation, I realised that the male had only one cervus. Is that why the female cricket does not want to mate with the male cricket?

  1. Your avatar is female. Do you mate with any male that trys? Sorry I couldn't resist. It is possible she sees him as inferior or she might not be ready. Add a couple more crickets and observe their behavior.
