...wear padding to protect their vaginal region when they're on the beam? In case they fall.

no because your coaches usually train you to do the skill safely before going to the high beam where you could actually straddle the beam. occasionaly you may straddle the beam but no i dont know anyone who wears padding down there for in case they fall.

because we try and practice so we dont fall

and when we do, we always fall to the side of the beam
