  1. I oppose special treatment for women, but different schools of feminism believe different things.

  2. What's with the huge anti-feminist feel here on YA?

Everyone is posting questions and answers that deal with second wave feminism. We're onto the third wave now. Try to keep up.

  3. What, exactly, is this "special treatment" women are clamoring for?

Edit: Enough is Enough..."females are inferior too males in almost every category." Yeah...I guess literacy is one of those exceptions in your case?

  4. NO!! They want to rule all of humanity, does that sound equal?? They want parades because they have v****a's!! If a man wanted a p***s parade, feminists would have a spasm. Equality is not what the fems want... they want your soul....ahh

  5. Yes they do. At least they should.

  6. Of course. I know at least I do but I'm a libertarian feminist and the radical feminists went out with the 70s. So don't be misguided and try to perpetuate the 'angry, man-hating' feminist.

  7. What do you mean special treatment?

Feminist believe in equality, the Orwellian one:

"We are all equal but some are more equal than others."

And don't let them fool you that the man haters disappeared into the past. You just need to look at VAWA and other man hating laws.

  8. Explain what you mean by special treatment? Some laws etc are just coincidental. Such as abortion, yes it's the womkan's choice but just coinsidence that it's in a feamles body.

  9. Some feminists have varying ideas of what constitutes special treatment, but for the most part, yes. I despise it.

  10. It depends.  Some feminists believe that their equality should be protected by the law (ie that there should be special laws to deal with people who do bad things to women).  Others believe that these kinds of laws are really a protection racket, or that they re-enforce the idea that women are weak and need to be protected.

  11. Sheesh! Feminists really cop a bashing on this website.

I am a feminist, I have been a self-proclaimed feminist since I knew what it meant (I was about 8 when I first claimed that I was a feminist).

I am not a d**e, I don't have tats or piercings, I don't hate men. In fact quite the contrary, I think men are fantastic (I have 6 brothers and they are all awesome, and when I find my true love I want to get married and have kids), I love having my chair pulled out for me, or the door opened for me. I love people telling me I am pretty or beautiful. I am happy to wear pink, I love fashion and I have more than 30 pairs of stilettos. I love being a woman and I very grateful that I was born the way I was born.

Do I oppose special treatment for women?

Well men and women are DIFFERENT. so if you mean, do I oppose women being treated differently from the way men are treated? Well it depends entirely on the context.

What I DO oppose is when someone (male or female) is treated in a negative way (exploited, discriminated against etc) simply because of their gender. Or when people are expected to behave a certain way, or not behave a certain way, because of their gender.

The perfect is example is s***s vs studs. Yes, I loath the "Special treatment" women get in this situtation because the same behaviour is seen as a good thing for men and a bad thing for women. THAT IS UNFAIR.

I believe in equal opportunity. And that's the fundamental tenent of feminism.

  12. No

  13. NO. thats what they want. Specialy treatment for women because the feminist themselves are mad they were born females. I mean females are inferior too men in almost every category

  14. Yes they do. You can't have it both ways.
