Do ferrets fur change colors sometimes?

Question

Our ferret, Brewsky, was only eight weeks old when we got him and no he is 1. He is completely different from when we first got him. Aside from the fact that he acts like a baby and has to be cuddled every five friggin minutes and when we got him we were covered in bandaids, his fur has also changed. When we got him he was a big babywith short light fur (he is a sable). ow he is relativly small for a male and has long dark fur. Is such a change normal?

My ferrets didn't change color, I had two. Maybe you should google it, or get some ferret books or go on a ferret website. I'm sure it's fine. :)

yes that's normal, our ferrets had a thinner darker coat in winter and a fuller lighter coat in summer.

It's normal.  Ferrets change coat colors all the time.  Most times it's seasonal, sometimes it is due to age.  Sometimes it's changes in diet too.  More protein in the ferret's diet for instance will sometimes result in a "poofier" coat.  

Don't worry about it.  The only time you need to worry is it he starts losing his fur.

It is normal for ferrets to change color seasonally.  They are fur bearers and their under coats grow thicker in winter and the outer coat becomes darker and shinier.  In summer their coats are usually shorter as they lose a lot of the outer coat and the under coat thins and also appears lighter.  Ferrets don't adapt to warm weather very well so this also helps them regulate body temp when it is hot out.

My first ferret I bought when I was 15, was almost black as she got older she became lighter. I had another that had a completely black nose when he was a baby and the older he became the lighter it became. I had a white ferret with black eyes, that would change between white and white with a orange tint in different seasons.
