  1. Many species of fish have periods where they are active and periods where they are not. That could be considered sleep; however, fish do not close their eyes because they have no eyelids. As well, some fish (like tuna and shark) rely on water moving constantly through their moths to breathe, so inactivity is not an option for them.

  2. Yes fish do sleep but in a weird way because when fish sleep they are resting one half of their brain and the other half is active for any predators.

  3. Yes they do. They have no eyelids so they can't close their eyes. When they look really still they are sleeping. Good question, I didn't know that for a really long.

  4. fish do sleep they just have no eyelids so if you walk near the tank you will wake them up. to tell they are sleeping the fish will lay/hover on the rocks just still like and then that is when they are sleeping

  5. Fish have no eyelids but they sleep when it is dark, which is why you must turn your tank lights off at night.

  6. fish don't have eyelids they just hover and relax

  7. Yes, they sleep but you probably never see them sleep because they can  sense that you're coming.

  8. Fish do sleep, although they just rest ontop of a "bed" of rocks. You may notice a little hole in the rocks or sand where they were sitting. But they never close their eyes when they sleep. They just kind of sit there.

  9. Fish don't sleep as such they just sit in plants or on ornaments to rest.  fish can see regardless if the tank light is on or not, a light is just for us to see them better and to help the plant photosynthesize

Fish don't have eyelids however i have noticed my panda corys roll their eyes.

Also what we have to bare in mind is that most fish originate form rivers with fast currents so they cannot afford to sleep as they would wake up in the sea (well they probably wouldn't wake up) so they are probably just less active.
