  1. We always have some of our best bites right before a storm, and during downpours. Fish go nuts when the weather is unstable and highly charged.

Try some topwater baits for great rain fishing fun. Bugs get knocked off of trees during the rain, so fish try to eat them at the surface.

    Good luck and good fishing!

  2. Yes, they bite all over the world when its raining, not just in texas, ive had some really good trout when it rains. They come closer up to the surface as its overcast.

  3. yes fish bite everywhere when it's raining. Fish don't know it's raining their world is wet, lots of wet and more wet. What they don't do is bite when thunder rolls the ground like an earthquake. Nothing shuts down a bite faster. Nothing!

  4. Ok first off ur really lucky i would kill to fish in texas.Texas was voted the best bass fishing destination in the US.Second yes fishing in the rain is in my opinion is the best time. top water baits and brightly colored buzz/spiner baits work magnificently. No thunder doesnt hinder fishing at all.Although if ur crazy enough to fish while its lightning I would go with a hunter green tube bait huge bass will hit them like a sack of bricks when they see it during a lightning flash.

  5. what does it matter to them, they already wet!!!!!!!!!!!

  6. Don`t know about Texas but at my lake they feed well after a storm.  Check out my little ones at www.chateaudetigny.com

  7. Actually fishing is better in the rain, if you can stand getting wet and it's not too dangerous from lightening and flooding. It actually helps disperse the insects into the water, fish know this and feed like crazy. Tight lines!

  8. that's an old folk tail that's somewhat right, if u have a big umbrella and want to try it go ahead, but in my experience they do bite better

  9. You better believe they do!  In Texas when it's been hot (as it has been for months) the bass bite will often turn on during a rain because it cools of the water and diffuses light penetrating the water making game fish more active and less spooky. Their strike zone as a result often becomes much greater.
