Do fish produce tears?

they have a slime that they use, it doesn't come from there eyes though, and some fish(if not all) have a transparent eye lid type thing

I don't know about tears but I remember from biolofy something about the slime on them being part of their immune system which meand handeling them too much puts them at risk for disease.
