Do fish sleep? if so how??

do they lik just float there or do they lay on the floor or the tank or ocean? like how? cuz i was in the office of this school and they had a fish tank and it was like the end of the day and the lady working there turned out th elight on th efish tank and it got me thinking "i wonder how fish sleep?" soo if u cud let me kno that wud b kool!

    "rest", and we might even call their behavior "sleep", though it is probably

    different than "sleep" in most land animals.

  3. they dont "sleep" persay, because they need to breathe through their gills so that have to keep moving or they cant breathe, so they just "rest",,,

  4. They don't have eyelids or anything and don't sleep exactly like humans or mammals do. They rest either mid water or some fish will rest on the substrate. They can however have the ability to wake up alot quicker than we would, and some fish can still sense predators when they are resting. Some fish are nocturnal and will sleep during the day, and others do when the lights go out.
