  7. yes they do both.  Fill an aquarium with fish and don't change the water for like 6 months and the color will slowly turn yellowish.  The ammonia level will rise and the fish will die.  if fish didn't produce waste, it wouldn't be necessary to change there water.

  8. They visually defecate, however they do urinate in the form of weak urine. That is where a majority of the ammonia come from.

  12. don`t know if fish urinate , it`s hard to tell when they`re in water ( a bit like us in the swimming pool , eh , guys ,don`t deny it ,now ).

    as for desicate , i think this is what happens to unlucky coconuts .
