  1. All fish, like all snakes, have NO eyelids.  Therefore they cannot close their eyes.  Their brains just "turn off" while they sleep.  You can wave your hand in front of a sleeping snake and it just won't move, because it is mentally shut down.


  2. Fishes do not have eyelids and can't close their eyes. They do however have protective mucos covering them. But the answer is no.
