  1. 1. Collars are not recommended on cats. They cat get stuck on them when jumping, causing them to get strangled.

    2. The flea collars themselves are not very effective against fleas and ticks.

    3. The insecticide used in the flea collars can be harmful to both the cat and people in the house.

Ask your vet for Advantage or Frontline to treat the cat. If they have infected your house, you need need to wash and/or vacuum all materials that theas can nest in.

Finally, leave your can indoors and typically you won't have a flea problem.

  2. both previous answers correct. NO collars do not work, nor are they safe for kitties.. frontline or advantage, available form your local vet work within hours.

  3. No, they definitely don't work. They're useless.

The chemicals on flea collars don't spread through the skin, so all the fleas have to do is stay away from the neck area. Once upon a time we didn't have much to use against fleas, befor spot-ons were developed, but these days it's astounding flea collars are still being sold. I suppose as long as people don't know how useless they are, they'll still keep making money out of them!

    Chalice

  4. No they don't really as the flea has to actually walk underneath the collar to be harmed,so they aren't really likely to do that! (well i don't think thet would...) so no they don't work, repelent ones or ones that "kill"!

    Hope this helps. x*x

**EDIT** Flea sprays don't  really work either or shampoos,so either a spot on that kills fleas on cats or going to the vets, frontline kills flea i think you can only get this from the vets, even if you don't take the cat into the vets Or this website might work!:
