  1. An individual fly's only "purpose" (biologically) is to make more flies. That's all.

  2. There is an old verse that goes like this: "The Lord in his wisdom made the fly, but then forgot to tell us why." However, as annoying as they may be, I consider them one of nature's clean-up crew, like buzzards, etc. They do serve a purpose.. I just don't want them in my house.. hummm ;)?

  3. Food for spiders.

I am sure they were not put on Earth with you in mind.

  4. Insect world is the most misunderstood and the most undervalued of all the animals.

We are still understanding & learning from them. Everyday a new species of insect is discovered.

Flies are yet to be fully understood. Scientists are still discovering new facts about them and they are all ready using some fly species maggots for treating incurable wounds.

So in the environment there might be more that they do apart from being a nuisance and a health hazard.

The most common beneficial things that they do are -

Food for other animals not just other insects but birds and small mammals as well.

    Help in pollination.

They help in keeping the environment clean by using the dead flesh as a food and a breeding ground.

  5. Flies, even though most of them are annoying and dirty, are very useful.

    They aid in decomposition.

*Flies eat rotten things faster than bacteria. This means they prevent bacterial growth.

Some cultured maggots have been used in medicine to clean out necrotic wounds, and in food production, particularly of cheeses. Yuk!

They serve as an endless supply of food for many living things and including some ethnic human tribes.

    Some flies aid in pollination.

Flies came to this world before us. They are like our very distant relative. They also need respect even from us like all living things.

The flies will love for this! HeHeHe!

  6. For everything there is a purpose. Yes, even for flies! So if you forgot to do your homework on sanitation, you deserve to do some calisthenics while having you meal. It is a reminder that we might have forgotten to do something mandatory.
