I was on a flight from Philly to Las Vegas and was wondering if the flight attendant staff I had on the flight always works that same route of Philly to Las Vegas and reverse?

  1. Flight attendant scheduling is varied and flexible, and can change from month-to-month and even trip-to-trip.  Even being on a through flight doesn't mean you will take the flight to it's destination.  Schedules are set up to maximize crew utilization and to create efficient work schedules.

Flight attendants bid on their flight schedules every month, from a list of available trip sequences set up by the airline.  Results are awarded in seniority order.  Some may be "pure" lines- the same trip every week, to a mixture of trips of different lengths and destinations.

  2. That will suck.

  3. We don't know about the crew you had. If they spoke to passengers and passengers spoke to them like they knew them, then those were probably regulars on that route (pax and crew.)

Usually those with quite a bit of senority will have regular routes with relatively long-haul flight, those will less will not. But even those with regualr routes occasionally fly something different.

  4. No, flight attendants do not fly the same routes all the time!!  How boring would that be!!  Being a flight attendant, my schedules varies from day to day and also month to month. You don't necessary fly into a city and reverse, such as NYC to LAX and LAX to NYC, especially on domestic routes. Here's an example of a two day domestic trip:  Chicago, Los Angles to San Fran and layover for 15hours, the next day San Fran, Denver to Chicago.  That's a typical two day trip!!  The flight always starts and ends from where the flight attendant is based. In my case, Chicago is my base.  As for the international routes, they do mostly fly the same route and reverse, such as Chicago-Paris-Chicago.
