I was just curious because I want to be a flight attendant but I wouldn't want to be always exposed to that much radiation.

  1. yes, but a metal detector detects metal. they won't be putting you through the xray machine, just yuor bags.

  2. Yes, flight attendants (and pilots)  do go through the same security measures as passengers.

The nice thing is that they usually have a special/separate line for crews only or they walk up to the front of the passenger line to go through. I really wouldn't worry about the radiation exposure from the security line, you actually get a lot more from flying high in the sky through the ozone layer! Nowadays people at their other jobs are exposed to x-rays/radiation, such as a lighting in an office building, outside sun, and other radiation releasing machines. Don't let the x-ray thing detour you from becoming a flight attendant...it's a wonderful career and you'll get to see the world! There are millions of flight attendants out there flying (many in their late 50's and 60's) who have been flying forever and are doing just fine healthwise! There are passengers out there that fly around the world for their jobs, too!

It's a great way to see the world and get paid! Hope to see you here soon!

  3. they dont at my airport.
