Do fruit bats bite?

i have many bats around my house and i think they are fruit bats, now my question is, do they bite? and if they do what should the person that was bit do?

well i heard that in idaho that there was a case were the fruit bat killed three people because the fruit bat thought it was fruit so i am wandering if that is true because the bite the fruit and the vinum melts the juice and the suck it out and thats what they did with the people so do they really do that?
