  1. They connive among them to gain more profits & get richer all the while at the expense of the consumers. We have no choice, we're at their mercy coz' what can we do? Nothing but to bow down on our knees coz' we thirst for oil. We live for the comforts by oil.

    Good day

  2. oil prices are based off international markets. Oil companies merely sell oil at the value it is worth currently. The higher the barrel of oil goes in the international market place (this can happen through OPEC supply cuts, terrorism, and speculation), the higher oil companies sell their oil for and the more they make. It is basic economics and it is not the oil companies at fault for the high prices.

region50 you really have no idea what your talking about, go take Economics 101. Speculators are not going to get burned its called supply and demand. Supply is getting lower as we burn more fuel, demand is getting higher as the middle class is bulgeoning world wide.

  3. Birds of a feather flock together!

  4. Oil companies, Arab countries, the Bushes, and speculaters are all to blame for higher oil prices. Oil refineries are running at 86% they can raise production if they wanted to. OPEC could increase output if they wanted to causing a glut which would cut prices. Bush could get out of the middle east cutting insecurity in the oil markets cutting our deficit which would cause a rise in the dollar. Speculators are eventually going to get burned by the oil bubble except for the very few at the top.
