Question:

Do full face motorcycle helmets fog one's glasses?

I have been wearing an open faced helmet for quite some time but I recently turned my bike into a bobber and removed the windshield. I realized today that that is not a good idea in Washington state weather and I need a full faced helmet.

But I ran out of contacts so I have to wear my glasses.

  1. A  full face helmet have good ventilation systems that keep plenty of air to enter the helmet.  I wear glasses when I ride and I use a full face helmet, I've never had any fogging issues.  I have not ridden much in the rain, but you can always keep the visor of the helmet slightly open to get more air movement.

  2. Most newer helmets are vented well enough that they shouldn't fog your glasses.

  3. California:  no.  Your state may be different.  There's no humidity in California.

  4. Even with good ventilation your glasses will fog up.  On cold mornings I keep my visor cracked open and that works but then my eyes start to water up and I have to close the visor, its annoying as h**l.  I put some anti-fog on my glasses and visor and that works great.

  5. No, most of the newer full face helmets do have vent and will not fog up your glasses.

  6. Mine fog badly esp in cold or wet. I hate it but havent found a solution except leave the face shield open about 1/4 inch. Those weeny holes provided by Shoei do nothing except make noise.

  7. Not if you crack the bottom of the visor a little bit open or depending on the vents built into the helmet.
