Do gargling with egg whites really improve your singing?

I've done other things(the honey thing but i'm not complaining) but always too grossed out to actually do it cause i wasn't sure if it really mad a difference

  1. No it doesn't improve your singing.

    There are strange remedies for sore throats and scratchy voices, but there are none out there that will actually make your voice sound better than it originally is. That comes with practice ^^. The more you sing, the better you get, no matter how bad you are to start with!

    If you're looking for remedies for a hurt voice, you could definately try Onions on Toast (advice given to me by my friend's aunt who is an opera singer).


  2. Beethoven's father, a tenor named Johann van Beethoven, used to do something like that: He would eat raw eggs whole, sucking them out of their shells.

    He was fired from the Electoral court in Bonn due to lousy singing.

    So I'd say... no, it doesn't.

  3. No, and since egg is a dairy product it will actually temporarily "deform" your larynex making it more diffucult to reach higher notes

  4. No, but you can make some lovely scrambled egg that way!!
